How true do you believe this statement to be?

I thought the statement was:

"Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all."

Semantics... anyway, I think that is pretty true. To have felt true love is the greatest thing in the world. Knowing what that feels like, even though you may not currently have it, makes life much more special. Experiencing true love is something that everyone should have done before they die, otherwise, in my opinion, your life would have been empty.

Though young and stupid, I think the statement is true. I've dealt with alot of heartbreak (being the hopeless romantic guy), but in the end I think every love experience is just that. Experience. You've gotta deal with your failures to be able to appreciate the moment that the perfect woman comes into your life. I think my time is coming though :-)

thats a tough one to answer.... i guess i agree that its better to have loved and lost, but it takes a looong time to get over the pain and realize that its better.

To a point. Look at it like most other things, if someone came to you and told you that they found the greatest tasting food in the world, wouldn't you want to taste it? I know I would. I guess I'm biased in a way because I've felt true love and have been lucky enough to hold onto it still.

I sort of like "You can avoid the heartbrake by not coming to the ball, but then you wouldn't have enjoyed the dance." Same meaning. Its true tho. I have a friend who is so stupidly shy that she swears she just wnts to meet a guy, skip the whole bf and gf thing, and jump directly into marriage. fucking virgins I swear...they need to loosen the fuck up! Oh well.
