In-N-Out
OK so in my stupor after half a day of flying, I forgot to make this most important thread. I was in Phoenix and went and got myself a burger from In-N-Out.
WTF?
Do you really only have 3 choices? Hamburger, cheeseburger or the double patty one (double double?)? What the heck kind of a burger joint is this? I appreciate the simplicity but wow, this is like, kindergarten-grade type of simplicity!
This chick at the counter was telling us about some sorta "protein style" which I believe means no bun, just more lettuce. I'm assuming there are other styles, but why aren't they advertised on the board? Sounds pretty stupid to me.
Most importantly, I'm supremely unimpressed after all the hype you guys have been building up in here about how it's an awesome burger. Umm... it's just a burger, like something I can get from McDeez or BK or Wendy's etc. Can't even add bacon to your burger, I don't think. Fries weren't outstanding either. I'll take Wendy's or Harvey's over this.
So what the heck, people?? I'm completely, utterly disappointed in this! I thought this was supposed to be burger heaven???

Re: In-N-Out
Don't know what kind of In and Outs they have in Phoenix, but the burgers are delicious in So Cal. I get a double-double combo once a week when I leave town.
The selling point is all the trimmings are fresh. The cut up their own onions, lettuce etc...The fries are cooked in real vegetable oil, they make a case in print on the box they come in.
Yeah, the menu is limited, but why mess with a good thing? Try it again, next time you find one, hopefully it will be a better meal.

You couldn't be more wrong.
That's like comparing Filet Mignon to Tripe and saying, "What's the big deal, they're both just beef."

Re: In-N-Out
The Idea is that you are IN AND OUT!!! No standing trying to decide what you want.
No, they are not the best burger's, but when in a hurry, you an get one quickly.
At CrapDonalds or the other's, you are waiting forever for drive thru, or in line why people make special orders

I'm basing this on what I've tasted. There was nothing special about the taste or quality of my burger. So why all the hype?
Are you saying that In-N-Out is like filet mignon and all the other burgers are like tripe?

Unwashed (or "green") tripe includes some of the stomach's last content, smells very unappetizing and is unsuitable for people, but is a favorite of many dogs and other carnivores and is often used in dog food. It is called green, although its colour is often brown or grey, because of its high chlorophyll content from undigested grass. For human consumption, tripe must be washed and meticulously cleaned.

Re: In-N-Out
I've found In n' Out to be a very love it or hate it type of place, I'm not really sure why but some people absolutely love it and claim that it's the best, but many people, even in California, really don't like it that much and prefer the more typical fast food. I like it, but you gotta get those onions grilled or the flavor is just too strong from the thick slice they put on there.

Since I'm allergic to bakers yeast (no buns or pizza dough for me), you can all kiss my white ass. All this talk of yummy burgers makes me want to bitch slap you all.
SUCK IT!

Re: In-N-Out
In and Out is family own. They have no franchises. I am surprised that they have one in Phoenix. Every thing is made to order and made fresh. The potatoes for the fries are cut in the shop, and nothing is every frozen. Many of the places don't even have tables, just a drive through window on two sides of the building.
The secret menu is what people like. It makes them feel like they are in the "in" crowd. Also they pay their workers more than most fast food places. They still get high school and college kids to work there instead of people who can not get any other job.
The owners are very Christian. The bottom of the cups have a bible verse and they give food that doesn't sell (may be close to sell by date) to the homeless.
