So I really enjoy smoking my hookah especially after a long day or from time to time when I'm takin a break at home or just hanging out with friends. I've heard conflicting stories of how bad it is for you, I'm curious what your opinions are of this. I work out 5-6 days a week and eat somewhat healthy if that matters and I'm in my early 20s so let me know what you guys think, what you've heard because its often on my mind

I know that after hitting a good bowl of shisha, my chest hurts for a day or two, so it's not completely good for you. Shisha is molasses soaked tobacco. So the health hazards are the same.


On a side note, the Two Apples flavored shisha is the best kind. Grape is a close second.

Hookahs have a cooler and smoother flavor and doesn't leavethat ash tray taste in your mouth. When you're smoking a cigarette, you take several puffs and you're done in about a min or so. smoking a hookah can take about 30-45 min and you're puffing a lot more. So even though it's not as bad as a cigarette, you're exposed to it a lot more. Some of my friends from Turkey smoked a hookah for the entire weekend and had to be sent to the hospital. Smoking it through out the years gives you lung problems. But the way I live life, I say PHUK IT!!!! I'm sure by the time i'm old and gray, technology would be so good that lung problems, heart disease, etc, etc won't be a thing.

Never smoked a hookah but I've smoke cigarettes, cigars and a pipe and had a 4 pack a day habit for about 10 years. I use to hack up a lung every morning before my first cigarette. Actually ended up giving them up when I was found to have a heart condition. Apparently, the nicotine thickens the blood putting a strain on the heart.

The mayo clinic says smoking a hookah for an hour is like smoking 100 to 200 cigarettes and they say the hookah doesn't remove the toxins and nicotine. I guess your buddies nicotine level was so high it was probably lucky they didn't have their hearts stop from high blood pressure.

hmm alright, yeah we have been smokin a bowl usually once a day lately its a big thing up in the northwest, I actually got mine as a gift from my ex a year ago and I owned one before that...I dunno why its so big here, I guess we just like that laid back feeling you get when you're smokin' it and its pretty fun when friends are around you can get 5 or 6 people on it and just smoke and talk about shit for an hour, but i'm definately gonna need to cut back after reading some of this stuff...i do work out 5-6 days a week and stay fairly healthy, other than the hookah and drinkin on weekends, but I know I should cut it down a bit, thanks for the info

The thing about a hookah is, well...really...OK I'll say it.

The hookah, as a smoking device, has just got an Al-Quaeda sorta feel to it, and well...heck, I'd rather hit a vape...or a good 'ol 'merican bong...than utilize some technology that a god-damned muslim terrorist had the thought to make in between cranking out IED's...

I dunno dude - you smoke out of a hookah, and the terrorists win - in my mind anyway.

well thats kinda playin a huge stereotype there backdoor jesus, no offense, I'm open to all opinions, but you can't call everyone from the middle east a terrorist because of a few bad apples, if you haven't traveled outside of North America lately you'll see the many stereotypes put out there of americans, I lived in Australia for close to a year and because of some of the idiots in america we have the entire world thinkin' we're all idiots, so thats basically whats goin on with middle easterners as well, don't get me wrong, terrorism is terrible, i serve in the US military, but please don't judge everyone from the middle east as a terrorist, or the things that are part of their lives...anyways completely huge rant there sorry! yeah Vaporizers are the bomb, my friend has a Volcano, I dunno if anyone here has seen or heard of one, but it literally looks like volcano and is definately a good social smoke as well...

Stereotypes suck, ive met people that go against all odds and all stereotypes that made me wonder about a bunch of other people i never did meet because i thought i allready knew what they where like. They are often accurate yes but for those that arent like they are expected to be its worth a while to find out.

Anyways smoking in a hooka is the shit! if i had one i would be smoking it every day. They are kinda underground here because not many people have them for tabacco smoking purposes, there are a couple bars that have them. Its cool how youd be drinking your beer and then a freakin hooka gets delivered to your table for your smoking delight, you can load it with whatever you want (nobody cares cause they are there for the same reason).

Never tried a vaporizer though
