So, as you may know the Pope is in the states right now. So today he and his pope'les went to visit some disabled kids. As if trying to show that the Catholic Church is interested in little boys for reasons other than some after hours play.

Here is the kicker.

Instead of asking God to help heal these sick children, he tells them this:



Isn't the reason supposed to be because God wants it to be? He has a plan for everyone according to my former church, Southern Baptist. If all these nut jobs are so trusting in this magical man in the clouds, shouldn’t that explain it? And, if he didn’t want them to be so fucked up (I apologize to anyone handicapped or disabled, I mean no offence to you) wouldn’t he give us the means to fix it?

So he goes on....



Or,

Hey kids, god is going to make you suffer through years of pain and agony while he sits and watches. But don’t worry, HE LOVES YOU! And the more you kiss his ass and do what I (the pope and his pope'les) tell you to do, the better chance you have of going to heaven.

IF god is real, in their sense, why would he let these men do so many immoral things in his name? I mean hell, they’ve been doing it for thousands of years.

Faith is one thing, but it’s the fear that is embedded into you from day 1 of your life that makes you want to keep on believing.

Sorry, reading this story set off a rant. There’s a lot more I could go into with this article, but I don’t want to write a book.

Not all disabled kids are born that way due to their parents doing drugs, drinking alchohol or what not. Some are due to genetics, doctor mistakes, pollution....and many other factors that parents dont have a control over. So what about those kids? They never got a chance.

What the hell is the Pope supposed to say? And no matter what he says, you would have something negative to say.

"Hey kids, God is testing you, if you believe, and pray hard 7-24, you will be able to walk and run and play. So begin praying now!"

Or

"Children, if you pray and ask God to help you, if you are truly worthy, you will be healed"

Is that what you want??

Believe it or not, most of us are born with defects, weather it be major or minor. Single or multiple. A lot of how kids deal with it are the family, and the church, and other kids.

I was born Fucked up, and kids teased me all my life, until I was big enough to stop them. At least I learned how to deal with people. I try to accept people that are different physically and mentally and personally.

And this rant is now going no where, so I will end it.

Leave it to someone who cannot accept the fact that God may not exist to view what I wrote as hatred. And not what it is meant to be, a simple question of belief. That’s how your types have gained the power and kept the rational thinkers in the shadows. You tell us, "Believe what we say or else you will burn in hell". 1000's of years ago they would have hung/stoned/tortured a person such as myself that questioned their beliefs. Now that people see that as a potential bad thing, you simply keep the violence at bay and use words and high powered friends.

I don’t hate the Pope; the title of the thread is a joke. I don’t hate the Catholic Church's members, or any other religion for that matter. I think people should be allowed to believe whatever they want, as long as they don’t try to force people to do it. I really hate the people who use the trust they've gotten in people, to abuse and manipulate them into believing that what they say is approved by God, and you must do it or you will burn in hell. I'm not just referring to the raping and abuses either. Suicide bombers, terrorists...ect

How the fuck does you getting picked on and made fun of in grade school any comparison to some one who is born with 1 arm, no ears...there are some kids in this world that are born totally fucked up. So don’t try to compare yourself to them. I had a pug nose, man boobs and big front teeth, in lower and middle school, so I'm not perfect either; I have some issues because of that these days. Hell I joined the fucking Marines to prove it to myself (and get college money).

I don’t know who you want me to forgive. I guess I forgive you for not being able to understand.?. I accept the fact that people are not perfect, and I do not ask them to be. I ask for people to tell the truth and not try to guilt me into it with fears of burning for an eternity. If you think you need a book and an guy constantly watching your every move to act right, then you've got bigger problems.

Fatty, maybe you should read your first Post, it sounds like you have hate in you, that is why I posted what I did. And as for MY, I was born FUCKED up!!!
I spent months in the hospital, the doctors told my Parents I was a mongoloid and would not live past the age of 10. I had to go to see doctors on a monthly basis until I was 8!
My Heart is all fucked up, and I have a extremely short neck with an enlarged head.

You obviously do not understand Faith. Having something to believe in and basically a guide to help people live in a positive manner and not just go wild is a part of religions.

If there was no religion, humanity would still be 100% like Apes.

And I did not tell you would burn in hell for all eternity, I just said you need to find forgiveness.

Ahhhh, he blessed them; he touched their faces and shook their hands. Well then that just makes it so much better. That’s healed them about as much as when I shook Clinton hand in 95 when he visited my home town.

Good for them, they spend some money to make some kids have a more comfortable life, I wish more people with that kind of money would do the same. He was there for PR; he said some pre-written hoopla, just like a presidential candidate, and went on his way. I'm pretty sure he wasn’t sitting in his pope chair at the Vatican and though up the idea of visiting sick kids in the United States.

Your not going to hurt my feelings, I started this, so I'm well aware of what I'm getting into. I'm looking for open dialogue here, so please, don’t hold back.

What your "hearing" in my original post is not hate, but confusion, as soon as I can reflect my tone on the internet, then we can solve that problem. I'm confused as to how much longer people are going to keep trusting this god character to run their lives, watch over and protect them. You question my understanding of faith. I was in the church from a toddler until I left my home at 18 and joined the Marines. I know more than enough about faith and religion to be able to talk about both sides of the belief fence. So don’t try and turn this into my not being educated enough to understand.

Tell me this. How do you expect a child to be able to tell the difference between a truth and a lie, when from the day they are born they are told what to believe and what not to believe, by people who have been told the same thing since they were children?

So you’re saying that if we didn’t have people to tell us how to live our lives, and scare us into obedience, we would be running around the jungle with our cock and balls hanging out? Where is your proof of that?

I believe there is something more then just us happening. I also believe that we all have a choice in how much we allow the church to control us. God gives a positive direction for people, not to go to war and kill randomly.

And no, Children cannot tell the difference between truth and a lie. they are young and have no idea. But the families and most Religions try to give them hope and something to live for. not to just give up. That is why so many are told the truth about God. About how he can give you meaning for life and how he can help give you strength.
God will not do it for you, you must work at it, but believing in god gives people courage and inner strength.

If everyone believed they could do anything they wanted and not pay a prices later, I do believe there would be far more crime and death. More then there are now.
