No More Artie??

For all you Howard listeners (like this guy), today was a sad day. Artie quit after a fight with his personal assistant Teddy. I hope Artie changes his mind. He has a week off so we will see. I'm just pissed they didn't play it on the replay. I didn't get a chance to hear it live since of course I'm on west coast time.

Re: No More Artie??

Artie was the best thing about that show ...well apart from Howard obviously but i loved hearing artie tell callers to go fuck themselves lol he will be missed if he does leave. Hopefully CanU can get this bust up on the shows he's been uploading.

Re: No More Artie??

Howard 100 news just reported on the Superfan Roundtable that in fact Artie is on the plane to Amsterdam as well as Teddy.

I guess they aren't talking to each other, but this could be good news.

Re: No More Artie??

I heard them talking about it on the wrap up show on my way in. Of course, my work has blocked Stern Fan Network, although not that you can get on because the server has crashed, and they didn't replay the show today.

Sad thing is I met Teddy on Saturday, he's a cool dude.

Here is the edited audio

Re: No More Artie??

From the clips that the Howard 100 news crew have been playing it seems that Artie went overboard.

I hate to say it but the guy needs to get his life together. Or we might have another Belushi, Farley on our hands.

Hopefully the week off will get everyone cooled down and everything is back to normal.

Sirius could axe him, but I've been hearing callers on the Superfan show say they will cancel if Artie really leaves for good.

High Pitch Mike must be loving every minute of this.

Re: No More Artie??

Honestly, I stopped listening to Stern when he went over to Sirius.

I already had XM for quite a while (don't listen to it that much), and didn't really see a strong desire to switch over to Sirius. Although I do like Margaritaville Radio (you can get it free online) and I'd listen to Howard if I had already had Sirius instead of XM.

It'll be interesting to see what happens when XM and Sirius merge.

I actually kind of like Adam Carolla on 97.1 a little better than Howard. I really don't listen radio at all that much, but Howard seemed to have a tendency to harp on the same old shit over and over and over. The last number of months he was on FM before his switch to satellite was fucking annoying as fuck listening to him whine about his contracts, the FCC, Clear Channel, etc.. B-O-R-I-N-G

That said, I DO like Howard. He's been funny as fuck over the years and I'd still enjoy listening to him now (if XM/Sirius get him, I'll gladly throw him back on, probably back and forth between Carolla and him).

Sucks about Artie. I really fucking dig him. Although the one DVD (It's the Whiskey Talking) was kind of a disappointment. Hope he makes it back to Howard.

I'll compare their careers then.

1. Funny as fuck.
2. Well respected comedians.
3. Tons of admiring fans.
4. Successful.
5 Fat.
6 Penchant for chemicals (and a shitload of them).

The only thing not similar between Artie and Belushi and Farley is that Artie is still on the right side of this terra firma.

But for how long???

Re: No More Artie??

Thanx to CanU i listened to this tonight, fuckin hell Artie loses it big time and attacks the guy and gets thrown out of the studio. A lot of shit gets aired about Teddys money problems but Artie definetly lost the plot on this one.
