64-bit linux
According to wikipedia there are several packages of Linux that support 64 bit. I don't have any experience with it, but I use 32-bit vista and would like to dual boot with a 64-bit OS. I have heard nothing but bad things about the 64-bit vista and don't want to pay for it anyway. So, I was wondering what I need to know about selecting a good 64-bit Linux install and how to go about setting up a dual boot?

ubuntu has both 32 bit and 64 bit versions. the 64 bit versions are not really all that different in term of how they work.
ubuntu is nice because you download an iso file and then after buring it to a disk you can boot from the disk any time you want, or you can install it on your hd. |
