Good freehost for over 500 mb files?

I really would rather not pay for a premium host when I only upload less than ten files a week. I don't mind registering if the host is free--#1, and fast and has unlimited downloads, and the link stays active for a while without any activity. I have a couple of files that I'd like to upload that are 500 plus mb, and the file-splitters I've tried don't work. I've tried Hjsplit, and others but they are just trial versions

, so I either would like someone to point me in the direction of a free for forever, easy to use file splitter/joiner, an easy to use video editing program, or a fast, freehost that supports 500 plus mb video files. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Is there some special way to split files using Winrar, because I don't seem to be able to get it to work. Winrar is cool and all, and I'll definitely keep it for rar and zip files and such, but is there a good, free splitter/joiner for movies and other files? Thanks in advance for any help/programs you can offer.

Right click on the file you want to split, you should see an option to "add to archive" , in the window that pops up yo will see an option to split the volume into bytes.You can make the seperate parts any size you wish. It also give you the option to password the file...
