In the hit US comedy My Name Is Earl, Earl Hickey discovers an important fact of life:

After winning the lotto only to lose his ticket after getting run over, petty crook Earl decides he's got bad karma.
Determined to turn his life around by righting the wrongs from his past Earl learns a lot about himself,
like a person needs a little rest after having his moustache tickled at a gay bar...

Last season, My Name is Earl left viewers with Earl Hickey taking the blame
for his ex-wife's crime of stealing a truck, and ended up being sentenced to two years in prison.

Earl begins his jail sentence and discovers that life is not easy behind bars.
He persistently tries to find out the best approach to surviving in his new environment.
Meanwhile, Joy finds out, after a few failed attempts, the perfect gift to pay Earl back for
taking her spot in jail comes in the form of taking care of Randy, who is also having a hard time adjusting to his new life without Earl.
In prison, Earl is sought out by a bully, who has lived most of his life in jail as a result of Young Earl's mischief.
This new life for Earl behind bars must mean years of bad karma or does it?

#303: The Gangs of Camden County

With karma back on his side, Earl is approached by the jail warden to help resolve one of the biggest problems going on in the jail yard.
There are feuding gangs constantly breaking out into fights, and Earl is asked to resolve these gangs' differences.
If he is able to settle this conflict, he will receive a lesser sentence.
Earl accepts the task and finds out a lot more than he bargained for.
Meanwhile, Randy is still suffering from Earl withdrawals and continues to search for ways to be reunited with his brother.

Frank, an old friend of Earl and an old coworker of Joy, describes how he ended up in prison.
The story takes place right before Joy and Earl met, and helps explain how many of them grew to become a part of each other's lives.

After the teacher gave them an assignment to write a story, Earl realized that writing was a lot harder than he expected.
Earl informs Randy about the assignment and Randy loves the idea of creating his own make-believe world.
Catalina, whose two jobs usually prevent her from writing, lives out her soap opera story,
that she wrote on dollar bills, about falling in love with a man named Javier.
Soon enough, the whole gang is able to write his or her own creative story and Earl is stuck with a blank piece of paper.
In the end, Earl discovers that sometimes the best story does not require the most imagination.

The episode features different types of altercations that are all somehow related to Earl.
Kenny is featured in the episode as a raffle winner who gets to ride along with a cop.
Since the Cops episode was taped prior to Kenny and Earl's reconciliation, Kenny shows resentment towards Earl.
