halp! ma vista don't know who I is!
yeah, so there is something funny about my vista permissions and users and all that.
please forgive me, I'm about to go to bed, so I hope this is somewhat coherent.
I have only one user on this machine, me. And under user accounts, I'm listed as administrator.
I've read about making a regular profile for day to day, and only using administrator from time to time when necessary, but this machine is still kinda new and I'm still changing allot, installing things and what not. feel free to comment.
Anyways, a few things come up that are weird.
when I try to access the local settings shortcut, I get:
c :\users \mdg user \local settings is not accessible.
Access is denied.
and just tonight, I tried installing a spiffy theme, and when I tried to change permissions for some .dll files, it said basicly the same thing.
Can anyone help me out here? or point me to a good guide or resource. I've been meaning to tweak this machine a bit more, since there seems to be allot of redundancy, and stuff set up multiple users and bullshit that I'd really love to streamline. Like extra services, and stuff like that.
spank you berry much.
