360 Elite Questions

Got one today and am already having a big problem. The audio is choppy. About every 5 seconds I get a break in sound for a split second.

I am running it with the HDMI cable and havn't tried the standard HD components.

If anyone else bought one, let me know if you are having this problem. I'm fucking pissed and unless this is a technical issue on my end, Microsoft is going to get one angry phone call (not that they will give a shit).

Also, I'm having big problems connecting to Live. I'm going through my router but it says I'm not connected. I just was online last weekend with my OG Xbox. WTF Microsoft??!!

Got the live problem fixed. Ethernet cable took a shit on me.

But as far as the sound....got to be a bad HDMI component. I plugged in the HD ones and the sound worked fine.

So here is my problem. Taking the whole system back to Target does me no good. They don't have anymore and they don't have a clue when they are getting more in if any at all.

Do you guys think MS will replace the cable since the Elite is under warranty?

It's probably not a great cable anyway. You'd be better off just going and getting a Monster HDMI.

OK a couple things - I know it's prolly too late & you've resolved your issues, but...

Monster HDMI cables (actually ANY Monster cables) - overpriced & overrated.

You can get perfectly acceptable Philips HDMI cables at Walmart for less than 20 bucks for a 6-footer.

Also, on HDMI vs. component - the quality is the same, it's just a more compact interface. If you are having problems with your HDMI connection, just roll back to component input; you will be just as happy, I think.

I know, one of 360 Elite's biggest deals is that HDMI connection, but eriolsy you don't need it. Me, I'd just be stoked to have that bigger HD - in fact I'm gonna get one for my old skool 360 ASAP...

return it asap to store buddy. mine was doing similar shit too. ended up completly breaking on me. get extented warrenty just to be safe cuz 360 has still alot of problems

hdmi should provide almost no improvement in video quality unless you have a full 1080p tv. The only advantage that hdmi has over component is a more compact cable that is easier to hook up.
