My POS computer!!!

Mabye some of you guys can help me with my problem. My laptop is not working. When I turn it on, I can hear the fan running, the sound that the computer makes when it is booting (I think) but the screen doesn't turn on. This just happened out of the blue. I don't really want to go out and buy a new laptop but if repair costs more that a new one, it make perfect sense to go with the latter. Anyone out there who can give me advice? Thanks.

Re: My POS computer!!!

Well first how old is your laptop? If it is still under warranty have them fix it. Also you can check and see if it is your screen by rebooting it and hitting the delete key a couple times to see if your bios come up. If it doesnt then it might be your screen. Also some laptops have a section in the back to plug in a monitor. If you have one you can check that way also.

Re: My POS computer!!!

I called Gateway and he had me pull out some of the memory, then he had me try a bunch of different things. I guess I got my monies worth but I was hoping that it might be a easy fix. I will check to see if there is a monitor port and check everything out. Thanks for the help!!!
