You knew it was coming, and that I would start it, so here it is.

Picks? Predictions?

Anyone see Luongo's first ever playoff game last night?
Awesome...just shy of 7 periods...longest game in team history...6th longest game in NHL history...New NHL record fro shots faced in a playoff game...1 shy of saves made in a playoff game...and it's only game 1!!

Plus the Nucks won, which makes it so much sweeter!

Are you talking series? Or Games. Becuase if you are talking gmes, you are WAY wrong!

And it makes no Diff, the West will win it all.

The east seldom plays D, and the West has both D and O!

Re: Playoff Hockey Thread

I have to disagree. This year Buffalo looks pretty tough to beat (eventhough they lost tonight). They have team speed, 4 solid lines (Tim Connolly playes on the 4th line... anywhere else he would be on the 2nd), solid defensemen, and a great goalie.

And whoever comes out of the West will be too beat up to last in the final.

Re: Playoff Hockey Thread

Although the west is a lot stronger, you have to look at the last 3 finals...
The west beats themselves up so badly making the finals that they have lost to weaker teams in the end.
If Buffalo makes the finals, then they hava a good chance at beating whoever makes it out of the West.
In the end, I think it will all come down to goaltending.
Here's to a Luongo/Broduer final!

Re: Playoff Hockey Thread

Not true at all...but thanks for coming out.
Goaltending does determine a lot of series, but just look at Detroit-Calgary....goaltending isn't a factor, being as Kipper has been awesome, but is down 2-0

If you don't know about it, then stick to the baseball threads.

Re: Playoff Hockey Thread

When kipper gets shelled with 97 shots in 2 games I would say that they are doing great. Everyone was saying that Calgary was going to physically dominate Detroit but it has been the complete opposite. The bigger surprise to me has been Ottawa/Pittsburgh. The young guns are being controlled by the older expierienced Sens. The one that is of no interest to me for some reason is Anaheim/Minnesota, just can't seem to keep the TV on that channel.

Re: Playoff Hockey Thread

I called the Sens/Pens series based on experience and the Pens giving away leads all year.
Plus Fluery has never been great in pressure situations as of yet.

The Ana series is of no interest because of how good Nasville-San Jose has been!
