Re: Playoff Hockey Thread
looking like a blowout for most of the game turns into a tight finish!
that being said, I just won all the money in the pool for the second year in a row (Last year it was winner take all, this year it's 1-2 taking money)!
Draggon wins again!

I'm pulling for the ducks. somehow, the team that beats the wings always ends up doing well. That and the sens are canadian. USA, USA!
Sorry Draggon.

Re: Playoff Hockey Thread
No worries.
I don't cheer for a team just because they're Canadian. Hell, I'm pretty sure Pronger, Both Niedermayers, MacDonald, Giguere...etc...all fly the maple leaf.
I'm a Canucks fan, and since the Ducks beat us, I cheer for them..makes me feel better about my team!
Also, as I've said 15 times or so...I get all the money in my pool either way, so I don't care...I'm just going to watch to enjoy hockey!
Also, GO GIANTS!!!
Also: I thought you left Ann Arbor for Penn State?

Re: Playoff Hockey Thread
Exactly why I'm really going for the Ducks. If the team that beats you does well, you don't feel as bad. I'm not really against Canadian teams, I'm actually a big Leafs fan somehow.
Yep, I live in Penn now, just haven't gotten around to changing the profile yet.

Re: Playoff Hockey Thread
yep. It'll be a good one tonight. I read an article on foxsports about how Canada is tuning out because they all hate the senators. How true is that D?

Re: Playoff Hockey Thread
When they say all of Canada they mean Toronto (Biggest city). Last year they were behind Edmonton, and the 2004 run they were behind Calgary, but the thought is that because Ottawa is Maple Leaf rival they won't support them.
Toronto is the mayor market, so to most places (Toronto included) whatever people there are doing is considered all of Canada... one of the reasons the West coast hates Toronto so much.

There's more cities in Canada than Toronto
