Pre-season begins!
Anyone else as excited as I am for some pre-season baseball?!
I'm just mad I don't get the YES network (Yankees network) in my dorm room.
I guess I'll get to see them play once a week when fox covers it on Saturday.

Re: Pre-season begins!
I can't wait for the season to start. I have semi high hopes for my Mariners. They have a pretty young and talented rotation this year and got a couple bats in the offseason with Jose Vidro (from the Nats) and Tuiasasopo coming from there camp.
Felix Hernandez dropped 20 pounds and looks like he's pitching B.B.'s out there.
If Ichiro has another good season (well when), Raul Ibanez plays like he did last year, Beltre and Sexon get back on track, then add Kenji Johjima, along with Jose Lopez and Jeremy Reed....then we might just be able to contend in the AL West.

Re: Pre-season begins!
I'm an official member of Red Sox Nation, so I get to listen to all of their games on mlb.com while I'm at work.
I'm not a big fan of the Drew signing (Should have waited a year and gone after Ichiro because there is no way he's staying in Seattle[sorry Korny]) and I would have likes a true closer, not a starter that couldn't start.
I think we can challenge for the AL East. Yankees are a mess on the mound and their stars aren't aligned, so I'm hoping they implode.

The last 2 years you've went and seen the White Sox in Seattle. They are playing a weekend set there in August. I'll be there for 1, if not 2, games. GO PALE HOSE!!!

Hmmm, maybe I'll have to get tickets for that one too. Maybe we can meet up at "Pikes Brewery" or something.
I already got tickets to the Edgar Martinez Induction to the Mariners Hall Of Fame.

Re: Pre-season begins!
I go to see our local AAA team all the time, they played some shitty shitty other AAA team that they smoked.
Long story short, me and a few friends go and just rip on the other team, turns out one of the guys (cant remember his name) gets pulled up right before the series and guess what... has a ring now.
  Guess who is laughing now

Sweet. Edgar was the shit. I wish he would have been healthy enough to play 3rd his whole career cuz I think that's all that will keep him out of the hall, unfairly.

Re: Pre-season begins!
Tigers are winning the central. Sorry Odie. We were robbed of it last year by our own crappy late season play but this year, the pennant is ours.

2006 was a fluke year for the Tigers. Their young pitchers are gonna pull a Wood and Prior and get hurt.
j/k I think Leyland did a smart thing with them last year by limiting their innings so they wouldn't have arm issues down the road. Good luck to you in '07.

Re: Pre-season begins!
I am a Colorado ROckies fan, and I will go to a few games this year. It is always great sitting in the sun doing nothing but drink beer, and chat with your friends, and watch Baseball.
I am also a fan of the Mariners, ever since they drafted Clint Zavarous way back. He play a couple years and that was it. Good kid I knew when I was younger (he was several years younger then I).
I always like to see the Yankme's lose.
As well as Atlanta, I hate them most of all.
I also have great dislike for the Lose Always Dodgers.
I do like a few of the other teams too.
Hopefully it will be a great season all around, with a great series to finish it.

I'm really hoping that doesn't effect him. I mean, someday they are going to have to let a DH in. Edgar was the best in the biz. I mean, the DH award is now named the Edgar Martinez award.
Coolest thing ever was two years ago when me and my buddy hit Edgar last two games. We saw his celebration and his last time out playing thrid. They let him play for 1/3 of an inning (one out). I've been the biggest Edgar fan all my life and it brought this big ol' Italian rocker to tears.

And he deserves to be the first one. Defined the role.
And no way they keep Big Pappi out after. He should have won the AL MVP in '05, DH or not (No bias at all...nope).
On another note, I'm in Seattle for the weekend set with the BoSox at the beginning of Aug. Going to be a blasty blast.
I might even wear my Teddy Williams Jersey around town...best lefty ever!

Haha. I think there are about a zillion Tui's in pro, semi, farm and college sports. And yes, they are all related.
