Re: WOW! Forsberg is Expensive
You think Brodeur is better than Roy? As a matter of principle, I'd have to agree. But as far as skills? No way.

Brodeur's skills were minimal compared to Patricks. Patrick made whatever team he played on better. Without him, the Habs nor the Avalanche would have trophies in the past 30 years. Brodeur had the help of a defense minded team. They played defense first so they always seemed to have help back there for him. IMO.

Re: WOW! Forsberg is Expensive
I agree that Brodeur had a defensive minded team in NJ and that has lead to his high SO numbers, but he is not skill wise lower the Roy in the overall package IMO.
He plays at the highest level for 70-75 games a season. Always high on SV% as well as GAA (This one I also credit the defense). He is also arguably the best puck handling goaltender of all time, a great dressing room leader and has unreal rebound control.
I would also like to point out his international resume. On the same team setup that Roy had Brodeur had better numbers.
Don't get me wrong, I love Roy and he was an amazing goaltender that I would put at 1A to Brodeur's 1 (With Hasek, as much as I dislike him at 1B). Roy has amazing positioning and vision, not to mention great rebound control and recovery skills. He was also a ton better at the flash and dash of goaltending, which makes for a great watch.
