Re: Why does chesse taste better in slices?
I have no idea, but the thinner you slice it, the better it tastes.
Though now I think of it, that's only for cheddar or Mozza type cheeses. Spread cheese (Like the ones in the wax or triangles) are great when a little thicker.

All I'm gonna say is this; One full block of Velveeta, one jar of hot salsa, and one pund of ground beef makes the best friggin' nachos evar!!!

If it's too thick you're taking in too much dairy in each bite? I dunno
I do agree with what you said

Re: Why does chesse taste better in slices?
It's all about surface area to volume ration, slicing it thin lets your taste buds grab onto more salty deliciousness with eat nibble per bit of cheese eaten.

I don't know why, but this sounded like a line from a Kevin Smith movie.
Quote:
Brodie: Cookie stand's not part of the food court.
T.S.: Sure it is.
Brodie: The food court is downstairs the cookie stand is upstairs it's not like we're talking quantum physics here!
T.S.: The cookie stand is an eatery, an eatery is part of the food court.
Brodie: Bullshit! Eateries that operate within the designated square downstairs qualify as food court, anything operating outside the said designated square is considered an autonomous unit for mid-mall snacking.
