AVG anti-spyware 7.5

i dl'ed AVG's entry into the anti-spyware field . they evidently bought-out ewido and developed/modified the program somewhat .
it is compatable with a lot of "anti" programs that may already be installed on your comp ... there is a listing at the avg site .
the trial version is the fully functional version of their software and after 30 days it downgrades to a slightly crippled version .

installation is simple and straight forward . the gui is user friendly and easy to navigate ... almost too spartan when compared to programs like "spybot s&d" . there are several options pertaining to "what/how to scan" ... all being easy to understand .
this program runs in the "resident shield" mode ... it looks at program files as they are opened to run as a level of security .

i set up to scan "all files" etc etc , basically utilizing all the functions of the program to do the deepest scan possible ... i was surprized at how fast the program ran and how quickly it finished (about 3/4 the time of spybot) . a look at the windows cpu usage graph told part of the story ... pretty much running 80-100% .
the report of the scan indicated the usual "cookies-n-crap" . it did find a port scanner program that i use and correctly identified it as such and further explained that it was not really spyware but could be used as a 'hacking tool" .
what it DID NOT find was three piddling pain-in-the-butt files isolated and locked down by AVG antivirus . the files themselves are really no big deal but it makes me wonder as the files themselves cross over in the gray area between true viri and spyware ... a little investigation is warrented here .

here is the addy for the dl page ... it lists several other grisoft products as well :
