OK, so most of you don't know/care, but our BC Lions (Who might even be able to beat the Detroit version) are the 2006 Grey Cup Champions...25-14 over Montreal last night in Winnipeg.

Most likely, but his team lost the conference finals to Montreal, so we didn't much care. Mike Meyers is awesome...but he's from back East...we don't like back east. I thought about making a thread about the game before it happened, but I didn't see many people caring, so I left it alone...but the local team won, so I had to say something...and take a shot at Detroit! The way the awards up here work... 1 player from each team gets selected in each category. From there, one is chosen from each conference as finalists. These 2 both go to the awards show and a winner is announced there. The only one the Lions didn't get was Best Special Teams player...we didn't have a finalist!

Good for Dave Dickenson; he finally "won the big one", it's just too bad that, and I know this means NOTHING WHATSOEVER, that he had to win one of the WORST GREY CUPS in recent memory. Not taking anything away from you guys, but cmon. Calvillo didn't throw a pass until the second Q that didn't look like it had been SHOT. Also, congratulations to the Stubby Italian Sandro DeAngelis, who won special teams player of the year, and will be in the NFL very, very soon. I don't know how many of you saw the PTI where he was a topic; he hit two fifty-plus yard field goals in under a minute thirty, one to tie the game, and the second to win it with no time left, and after the second one, he began to dance at midfield as though he'd scored a touchdown. Classic CFL, way to go Wilbon for sticking up for him against that plug LeBatard.
