Where's Shaq going???
Now that Shaq has demanded a trade where do you think he is headed? Do teams want to give up a young rising star for a player that will probably retire in 3-4 years? What do you think??

I dont think he's going to SA or Houston. LA would demand we get Yao or Timmy, which isnt going to happen. There arent that many teams that can put up the contract to match shaqs, so trading him wont be easy. I hope he stays, but if he goes, i hope he goes to Indy, NJ, Dallas (if we get dirk, a resigned Nash, Daniels, and the #5 pick).

Re: Where's Shaq going???
I think now is a good time to trade Shaq. He only has a few good years left. Boston could have got a lot for Larry Bird had they traded him when the Pistons ousted them in 1988. He retired in 1992. Boston did little in his last 4 years, Detroit and Chicago were winning it all.

Re: Where's Shaq going???
I think Shaq will end up in Dallas. Most likely the deal will have Shaq going to Dallas for Nash, Finley, Podkolzine and picks. If they can work that deal, that'd be awesome. If not, it'll be some combo of Finley, Nowitzki and others.

I want no part of Finley, i think he is way overrated and overpaid. Nash is a free agent, so they cant exactly use him as trade bait (even tho i would love for him to wear the purple and gold). Was podkolzine their pick at #5? But from Dallas, i would want Dirk, their #5 pick, Howard, and i think Walker is needed for cap reasons (and his contract is up after this season =trade bait)
There was a rumor that the clippers wanted to trade Brand, Mags, Ely, and their pick (plus whatever filler is needed). Which i would love to happen. I doubt the players would mind, since they dont have to mone anywhere, and their going to a great franchise. But, this was axed a few days ago .
trading Shaq for Ratliff, Shareef, and filler would be sick, too. While i would love to be able to see Shaq play more foten, i would hate the fact that he is still in the same division kicking my Laker's ass 4 times a year. But we would get someone to take care of the paint (who wouldnt mind Kobe taking his shots), and Shareef's game would compliment Kobe's (inside-outside). and P-town would be a legitimate contender with Shaq, and he could show Ha Seung Jin the ropes (maybe, he's raw as they come i hear)
shaq acts on emotion a lot, tho, and hopefully if Rudy T is our coach, he can talk Shaq into sticking around, and maybe taking a paycut (maybe im dreaming here). But if we do trade Shaq, we'll be fine, and we get rid of his enormous dinosaur of a contract. And hopefully Shaq goes to a team with an owner that has deep pockets (ie Cuban) who will give him his ungodly max-extensions (3 years at almost 100mil ). So evryone is happy.

Re: Where's Shaq going???
Shaq put his house up for sale....not looking good for Laker fans. If I were Cuban, I'd definately do a deal involving Dirk, but he's slow to pull the trigger on that. They're trying to work a sign and trade w/ Nash. I'd never take Antoine Walker on my team, the man is a bum. He stands around jacking up threes, and he's too fat to run up and down the court. Best case scenario for the Lakers is picking up Dirk in any trade.

I dont like Walker either, but his contract is expiring, so that would give LA some cap space after the season ( a few other contracts expire) or trade bait for a team looking to rebuild. If a trade with Dallas does go down, Mitch better get Dirk and one of the rookies, though.

I know, i just found that out a few minutes ago. That really blows. But cuban also said there are no untouchables on the Mavs.
These are just rumors, but Sactown is involved now, and rumored ot be offering Miller, Peja, and Christie for Shaq
http://www.sacbee.com/content/sport...-10727116c.html
I would love Peja, Kobe driving and dishing to Peja all day would be a thing of beauty. I think Webber, Vlade and Bibby is more realistuc, IMO. I dont think they want to get rid of bibby, but if it gets rid of Webber (who is rumored to want out of Sac) they might do it.

Re: Where's Shaq going???
with the trades Dallas made during the draft, they might not need to trade Dirk. a deal with walker, nash, Podzolkine, and someone else to match shaq's salary could do it.
I dont see why the lakers would keep him if he doesnt want to play for them. More shaq and kobe drama which isnt good for the team

Bird had chronic knee problems those last few years. You saw it on the Dream Team as well.
As for Shaq, Dallas wants him bad. And with Nash signing with the Suns, it clears up some $$ room...

If Nash signs with the Suns, it probably wont give the Mavs any capspace. Theyre pretty far over the cap as it is. If it did give them some space, it probably wouldnt even be equal to the MLE (should be around 5mil).
ps: cap space doesnt make a difference when making trades, because salaries have to match. Im starting to not like this trade with Dallas much anymore, tho. None of their players play D except Najera, and the rookies. And those contracts dont come slose to matching Shaqs.
