Bertuzzi - Luongo Trade
hey, im from BC so i was wonderin what yall think of the bertuzzi trade for Roberto Luongo. also if your opinion would have changed had there been no steve moore incodent.
well for me, i thought what he did to moore was well deserved after moore did a cheap shot to Naslund and for that he got what he deserved. but the last couple years he just hasnt been productive with his game. and since cloutier is a concussion machine i think this could be for the better.

Re: Bertuzzi - Luongo Trade
I don't know, i think bertuzzi is worth more than luongo, but there has been alot of high profile changes, the team that looks to have gotten alot out of the trades has to be the ducks, There defense is going to be amazing. Pronger, he almost shut down entire teams in the playoffs ... i myself happen to be a sharks fan, GO THORTON!!!.

bertuzzi is a cancer. Luongo is a good goalie, I think Vancouver got the best of that deal by far.

Re: Bertuzzi - Luongo Trade
As a canucks/Luongo fan I hope it works out for them. I wouldnt mind seeing Bert revive his career into the force he once was, its just good for the NHL in general along with fun to watch. That guy is a freak of nature.

Bitchtuzzi is a cheap shot sissy bitch! I am glad Vancouver traded his sorry ass!
I used to like the Canucks until that shit happened.
Deserved to have a broken Neck?? BS! NO way he deserved it!
If I did not fear getting banned, I would call you a fucking idiot!
Yes, he deserved to get his ass kicked for causing an inury to a great player.
Yes, he did get his ass kicked early in the game. that should have been enough!
Bertuzzi INTENTIONALLY tried to hurt him. He did NOT intend on breaking his neck, but he wanted a concussion! Is was obviouse. And that is BS even in the NHL.
Punching hin in the face WITH the glove, then Driving his head into the Ice!
Fuck that SHIT!
I hope Bertuzzi sucks ass and gets his fake crying ass kicked always!

Re: Bertuzzi - Luongo Trade
do you even follow hockey bud? cause that looks like you have only seen shit the media has shown. the fact is the worst damage caused was when both teams jumped on bertuzzis back when they were on the ground already he went for a concussion im sure thats what hes got. we are all entitled to our own opinion dont call me a fucking idiot. i am in vancouver that is my team i follow this shit very closely. so dont attack me personally cause you have different opinions. also.. Steve Moores shot on Naslund was far more dirty.. just the fact that he didnt get a fluke injury nobody cared. Moore got what was coming to him and i am happy Bertuzzi did so

Re: Bertuzzi - Luongo Trade
No, the main injury DID not occur when everyone piled on Bitchtuzzi!
I saw the game that Naslund got hurt, and I was upset he did. I was a Vancouver Fan at that time as well as an Avs fan.
Yes, I did watch the game that Bitchtuzzi clubbed Moore with his glove on. You can see all the replays and see he was already out cold, and then Bitchtuzzi DROVE his head into the ice. That again was WAY over the top.
I have not been a Fan ov Vancouver since then.
Now that Bitchtuzzi is gone, I may well become a fan of that team again.
Oh, and FYI. I have been to Vancouver, and to a couple of games there. Before all this shit occured.
I apologize for calling you a fucking idiot, but your one sided view and being happy a man got his neck broken is Fucked UP!!!
That is Not deserving for a the hit he put on Naslund.
PS Naslund is still playing and so is Bitchtuzzi. Moore's career is over.
imagine that in your life!

Re: Bertuzzi - Luongo Trade
well i live in vancouver so when naslund got hit i was fuckin choked and i wanted moore to be injured. i did not care how badly he was hurt and i really stil dont.my views are one sided because i do live in vancouver and they are my team of course if it was me that got hurt i wouldnt be happy.. but its not me :\ lol anyways thats how i see it i think he had it coming to him and i stil think hegot the worste when they piled on him cause i have been knocked out several times in sports(rugby mainly :| ) and just cause you are knocked out doesnt mean the worste has already occured, you can stil be injured afterwards

Re: Bertuzzi - Luongo Trade
I agree that the end result was a little drastic, and Moore didn't deserve to have his career ended, but that's a moot point now...
Had the Avs coach left Moore on the bench in a game that was already decided when half the Canucks roster was trying to get him to drop his gloves again (You can't say that tussle with Cooke was a fight) it also wouldn't have happened.
JoeRocker - Don't stop being a fan of a team because of the actions of one player. Burt wasn't sent to do that, he decided to do it.
Original Question - I love the trade because it gives us a top notch goalie for the first time ever. We lost 2 players that takes way to many penalties in the "New NHL" and a goalie known for letting in the easy one.
I am an Auld fan, but he needs to mature and is an asset to deal with Cory Schneider in the system.
Allen is a good young defenceman, but Luc Bourdon is the same style player, but with more speed, and getting Lukas Krajicek as a speedy mobile D-man will shore up his loss.
Bertuzzi. Great power forward when he wants to be. Didn't want to be in Vancouver anymore. Wish the Bruins would have shopped Thorton because that deal is better then what they took, but that's old news too.
Lets go 'Nucks!

Re: Bertuzzi - Luongo Trade
well, im in cloverdale atm. anyways i havent heard that he is on the block. i really think that would be a bad call to get rid of him he is a great leader for our team(IMO of course) and i just like his overall style and gameplay.is he to expensive for our cap? or what is the reasoning behind it?
also what do you think about this

Re: Bertuzzi - Luongo Trade
Well...I'm a little bit of a Hockey freak, and this is what the word is.
The News in Philidelphia is that due to contract talks stalling with Gagne, a swap to Vancouver for Naslund is possible. Gagne fits in with our new team well (Younger, gritty and works well defesively). At the same time, it reunited Naslund with Forsberg in Philly.
The $$ issues are moot because Naslund is at $6M and Gagne is looking to be +/- $5.5M. Not enough difference to do much with, other then sign a fringe player.
If that doesn't happen, then think of it this way. Naslund has huge ties to Bertuzzi, doesn't play the kind of 2 way style Juilienne is known to instill, and was the face of the old core group. Noted, he does lead well by example on the ice, but you need you captain to lead in the dressing room, and in front of the press too. Naslund isn't that style of player. to quote Rick Ball on the TEAM 1040 (Your new home of Canucks radio broadcasts) "It's trying to fit a square peg into a round hole".
Naslund needs to be able to just go out there and play, and not worry about all the other crap.
Now, that being said...I don't think the Canucks have that leader right now, and I'm not sure Gagne is one (Yet). Jovo and Burt (Before it all) had potential, but that's not an option anymore. Luongo looks like he could be one (And look at what the last Goalie we had that was a leader did) and Matt Cooke has alot of potential. Other then that, it's a crap shoot. Linden isn't captain material anymore because of the role he plays, and Mo hasn't shown me he can step it up.
Then again, it's sports, and who the F*#k knows what could happen. One thing or another, I'm excited about this season and what's going to happen.
Basically...Don't be suprised if Naslund goes....either now, or if the team struggles early.

Re: Bertuzzi - Luongo Trade
damn man thats nuts... honestly ive never liked jovo.. somethin bout him scoring on his own net to many times :P
could u go further into detail on why you dont think linden could take captain role? cause i thought he would be a perfect fit for it.
if naslund did in fact go.. i would be disapointed but i probably wouldnt care after a few weeks you know? i would prolly get over it once i see how we do without him(that is if it goes over well :P )
