Does anyone play UT2004 on this forum? If so, are you hosting games? It takes so long to load each game on my pc (1.8 ghz, 512 ram, 256 video card) How long does it take you guys? How much faster would my computer need to be or do you think the ram is the slow link.

i wouldn't reccomend hosting games from your computer. first you don't have the system for it. your really need atleast a 2ghz and a gig of ram if you want to make a playable Deadicated server. if you want to play on the server while it is on your computer you need atleast 2.5 ghz and 2 gigs of ram. also most internet connections are not fast enough to have a server runnig from them. most cable/dsl setups while they may have a 3 mb/s rate that is only for the download speed most of them have about a 200 kb/s upload speed. which isn't enough room for all data for a server to run on.
