EA Sports on 360

OK this is re-god-damn-diculous!! I have played 3 EA Sports games on my 360 and each one is far inferior to the older versions!!

WTF!!! I thought I was buying a 'NEXT-GEN' system that everything would be better on!

Madden 2006.....In the 360 version they took out the create a player option, the ability to challenge calls, owner mode, and the Madden cards. What the hell for??? I've been able to create a player in every football game since PS1 came out! On regular Xbox and PS2.....these things were not taken out.

Tiger 2006......would be a great game.....IF THEY DIDN'T LEAVE OUT ALL THE COURSES! The 360 version has 5 courses. Regular Xbox has like 17.

Fight Night Round 3......Got this from GameFly yesterday. Graphics are great but the game play is WAY SLOW compared to Round 2 on the regular Xbox. You try to throw a wound up punch and your guy grunts for a second or two and then throws it. Now it still may be a decent game.....just need to change the way I fight. I just figured it would be the same gameplay with better graphics. Oh yeah.....it doesn't have half the boxers as Round 2 did......pathetic.

number bug got ya

I have not seen enough games to make that decision on 360 yet. A big test will be in a few days when I get Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter.

But if I had to judge right now.....I'd have to agree with you.

PS3 is just another overpriced piece of Sony hardware, I hope it fails miserably, but we all know it wont due to all the Sony ghey fanboys

Do you have a 360 Mr. Bowler? If so, what do you think of it so far?

Re: EA Sports on 360

i havent played it.. or ever played a 360.. but to me madden is just getting worse.. i think the best madden game was back in 93 on the genesis..

the creators of these games/ consoles dont care if the game is good or bad.. "if it looks good we will sell lots" To me i would rather play a game thats fun and has lots of replay value.. if it looks great thats an added bonus..

Well I personally think that Fight Night Rd. 3 is the shit. My friend has a 360 and seeing and playin his has convinced me to buy the 360 over the ps3. I have also heard that the PS3 on trial runs has actually blown up...I am sure they will fix that, but I have been sold on the 360 so far.

But have you played Fight Night Round 2?? The game play is SOO much faster than it is on Round 3.

I played it some more last night and it is not as much of a bust as the other two EA Sports titles I mentioned. Still not the game I thought it would be though.

Re: EA Sports on 360

Yea I have played all three fight nights, but I really do like the 360 version of round 3. It is a bit slower, but still a solid game. As far as the 360 games not being up to par, I think it has a lot to do with the fact that microsoft pushed the games and the system out too fast. I think that the next time these games come out, they will be much better and have many more of those options that were left out this time around. I just think those options that you metioned were left out in order to get the game out quicker, which I agree was not the best decision, but look for the games to be better next time around.

I have never been a fan of Playstation or Sony for that matter. If it weren't for the fact that I think nintendo is going to flop on their console I would advocate that. Playstation 3 is a superior piece of hardware than 360 and Sony has a lot more interest in their games. I have not been impressed with 360 at all, but what I've seen of PS3 looks to dominate what 360 is capable of.

Also, the ps3 is going to use bluray discs which should be enough to give it more staying power than 360 in the long run. Microsoft giving the shaft to its customers. Releasing an underdeveloped console ahead of time so that they can try and buy the market. And all that hype they had when it first came out, its just wrong.

Yeah, in my mind, that's going to be the biggest downfall of the 360. I mean, c'mon, games are already using almost the entire disk now, and they haven't even reached the full potential on the Xbox just yet. Cutting corners on the 360 just to be first is going to hurt in the long run. And all for what?? I can't even buy a 360 around here! I imagine I'll be able to buy a PS3 about the same time Microsoft actually starts shipping stock.

Re: EA Sports on 360

got to say that i completley agree with most of what youve said about EA games on the 360 - my only quibble would be the comments on FNR3, personally i think its mint!

The slow down on the big punches was a consious descision made by the developers, so there easier to defend against - therefore making fights more strategic in nature. You can still execute the big punches quickly using the right thumbstick though.

Great game - best EA game on the system yet imo.

Still, its this week in the uk that we get to play the full version as FNR3 isnt out untill friday. Looking forward to buying that and Ghost recon this week - and Burnout next week.

You can't judge a system by the launch titles, the EA games available at launch were all rushed and didn't have a full development cycle. Check out PGR for a real taste of what the 360 is capable of.

I have seen PGR on 360. It's the only game that I have played a lot. I played a fair amount of call of duty and, quite frankly, its not terribly impressive. The point is not that its not capable of great graphics, its that it doesn't have the resources that PS3 has. Game developers are aware of their limitations on these systems ans PS3 has much greater freedom. I'm not an expert, I'm not claiming to be. I think Microsoft should have stayed out of the console market and they are trying to win it with brute market force with short changes the consumer.

Re: EA Sports on 360

The bad thing about EAsports is they now have an exclusive contract w/ the NFL as the only NFL licensed game(madden) & no compition sucks for us. I was a huge fan of NFL2K-ESPN NFL2K4. Now you have no choice.
