I think Microsoft should have stayed out of the console market and they are trying to win it with brute market force with short changes the consumer.

To be honest mate, i think the opposite to you.
MS for me have been a breath of fresh air in the console market. They bring online play to the masses (something sega started but MS executed in a much more effective way), they did away with the need for memory cards and multi-taps and provided a machine with a controller that felt just right (im talking S pad here), and games with graphics that smashed the competition.
Sony promised so much in the ps2 and for me personally delivered a few gems in amognst overwhelming numbers of games wich fell into the 'average' category. The PS1 was a great console for its time - it breathed new life into the home gaming market and bought gaming into a new league and helped attract a more widespread audience.... unfortunatley for me, Sony didnt build on this with the ps2... the just rode on the back of the PSX legacy.
They provided mediocrity in its most extreme and Microsoft have used this to there advantage and have given gamers a sense of community and tried to provide a service to us (ok - not out of the goodnes of their hearts ill grant you) that feels like a decent step forward.
I think Sony just released the PS2 as a cash cow... and effective one mind, but a cash cow non the less.
Now were moving into a new generation of machines - were ms has released a very good machine before the competition, and is building the machine around genuine enhancments and not just on the back of the xbox brand name. The live service has been over hauled and is now a hundred times better than it was, the controllers are simply the best ive ever used (what the fuck was sony thinking with that boomerang thing of theres?), and the graphics are sweet.
Have you played Ghost Recon?? My jaw genuinley dropped when i saw it running for the first time - and these are just first generation games!!
Ive heard different opinions all over the net as to which is going to be more powerful.. the ps3 or the 360, and one recurring thing seems to keep rearing its head - which ever machine has the edge it will only be a slight edge - this generation will be won and lost (in quality terms anyway) by programming, and innovation - and as we all know - MS have provided a machine that all sources agree is a dream to program on, Sony have a track record of doing the exact opposite.
All of this sounds extremely bias i admit - but after loving my Dreamcast to death i always felt the PS2 was a let down, then MS came along and seemed like the natural successor to the DC.
Like i say - Sony have done somethings well (eye toy was a good innovation for example) and they have had some genuinley great games on the system (ICO and the Pro Evolution Soccer series spring to mind) - but overall Microsoft have my vote in the last and Next generation.
