Re: plzzz i need serious help !!!!!
Pros: No viruses or malicious users, reliability, customer service, the most productive/efficient operating system ever.
Cons: Gaming not that tenable (the new Intel machine will change that), lack of upgradeability.
The macs are reliable, stable machines that allow very fast work due to it's well designed operating system. Because it is made by the same company as the machines, it works very well with it's hardware. However, you will pay more, but it is worth it. (really, it is) The only true complaint I have is the inability to upgrade. You go buy any computer other than the PowerMacs, you cannot change the video card, or swap out a board. The only things you can change are memory (with limits) and the harddrive. So Two years down the road, your mac is definitely slower than a machine of the time.
If you go for the mac, wait until they release the Powermacs with Intel chips. Then you will have a mchine that can use almost all hardware, and upgrade it for years to come. Even if you don't wait, the operating system makes any issues I have ever had with the computers just *disappear*.
I doubt you would regret the decision to buy a mac. Happy computing!
