Re: DRM on WMA

Tunebite works I think. Technically its legal too cause all it does is record what you hear on your speakers just like recording a song off of the radio, at least thats what they claim. You have to um *cough* buy it *cough* or else it will only do like 15 seconds of songs. My only complaint is that it messed up the time for some of the songs. As in it will say the song is 3-5 times longer than it really is. Itunes just stops it when the song is actually over and musicmatch plays it a few seconds at a time. It just reports a different bitrate than it really is.

Other than that its just a big time commitment because it has to play each song in its entirity. I just turned the volume down and let it run all night, but it did crash a few times. Oh yea and be careful you close any programs that make noises because it will record those. One song I have has a nice beep in the middle.

This is assuming you have the rights to listen to the song and just want to listen to it after your time expires. As far as songs you don't have the rights to I believe you are SOL. I looked around and it seems that DRM is pretty solid. Things may have changed in the last few months, but my impression from what I read is that it requires way too much computing power and time to crack DRM for it to be worth it.
