As we all know sometimes sequels can be better than their original's and the likes of the Rocky's and the Rambo's and the Lethal Weapons come to mind as Rambo 3 is clearly the better of the 3 and Lethal Weapon 4 is the better of those movies.
So which sequels have been better than their original in your opinion and why?

The reason i ask is cuz i sat and watched all 3 Rambo's over the past week and on DVD widescreen for the first time and fuck me, Rambo 3 never looked as good to me, still a great ballsy action movie and clearly better than the first 2.

What says you?

Re: Sequel's

Um, i'll answer, but i don't know if it's what you are looking for.

I saw Kill Bill and Kill Bill 2 and i feel that KB1 far surpassed the second one. I found it to be dull, drawn out and more an exercise in him showcasing his vast knowledge of cinema than something made to entertain the audience.

Re: Sequel's

Empire Strikes Back, IMHO this was definitely the best of the original trilogy.

Re: Sequel's

All 4 Star Trek... the Motion Picture sequels were better than the original. I pulled out the TrekI a few months ago, and was amazed by the hokey (even for StarTrek) acting, and special effects. Looks like they were going for a 1970's look in the FX department. I'd say IV-The Journey Home was the more mainstream acceptable ( and commercially successful) sequel... but I liked the one that starts with Kirk, Spock and McCoy on the prison planet (Undiscovered Country?) the best.

Rocky

Which movie in that series is the best in your opinion?

I'd have to say Rocky 4
