WoW on PC or MAC?

click on one of our sponsors! OR REMOVE ADS
I am about to get into WoW and need to decide which of my machines will run the game better.

My PC: Pentium 4 2.0 Ghz
1 Gb 133 Sdram
Geforce 5200 256 Mb Video
5400 Rpm Harddrive

My Mac: The new 15" Powerbook!!
1.67 Ghz G4
ATI 9700 Pro Mobility 128 Mb video Card
1.5 Gb 200 Sdram
7200 Rpm Harddrive
Much better monitor...

So which of these machines do all you computer *experts* think will play the game better? The PC is 2 years old now (slow bus), but has a faster processor. The mac is brand new (higher cache/bus), has a slower processor, but faster everything else.

What do you think?

Re: WoW on PC or MAC?

Throw it on both and find out. Both versions are on the same set of discs. The Mac code isn't as tight as the Windows code, so you'll eek more performance out of the PC hardware you have.

I'm running it on both my powerbook and my PC, my Pbook is a 1.33Ghz with 768MB RAM and my pc is running at a little over 2Ghz with the same amount of RAM. The Powerbook chugs with lots of models onscreen and goes into slideshow mode in any of the major cities. It's still playable, I just prefer the PC because it rarely skips a beat.

Anyway, you get both versions of the game when you buy it, so try it on both. I play on the PC at home and the Pbook when I'm on the road.

Re: WoW on PC or MAC?

Wicked about both being on the same disk. Good to know!

Thanks kilthric
