Help _ How Can I Remove Winfixer 2005
 

This installed itself from an ad on Webrats and is messing up my computer and is spyware - why do webrats allow this garbage?

its not like the mods intentionally gave you spyware, probably one of the ad companies did it without their knowledge.

Several things
A) you know whats causing the problem, can't you just delete it (use Spybot or something?)
B) Get Mozilla, and use adblock, I havent seen an ad on here in ages.
C) Post to the computer forum, or PM one of the mods about it

use spybot... that pretty much removes everything... i also have a program called Spyblaster that i use...

I personally use Spy sweeper that worked great, but then i found ad-aware. Adware is fully functional and updates with no paying. If you want to pay it unlocks.. some useless features. For better firewall protection use Zonealarm, uses alot of cpu, but is the best working anitvirus/spyware/firewall program i have found. If these programs dont get rid of it, try finding the name and looking it up in the registry, and make sure its not starting up when you boot, in msconfig.
