Clock Error in Pats-Steelers Game

NFL.com Link

Kinda shitty for the Steelers seeing as they tied the game and then the extra time added on allowed for the Pats to win the game. :duh:

Ya, but the game might have played out different on either end with less time on the clock. Was a pretty shitty situation for the Steelers though.

Pats beat'em fair and square. It just took a little longer.

How is that fair and square? They won the game in the last few seconds... after getting 54 "bonus seconds."

Didn't both teams get 'bonus' seconds? I dont see the Steelers blaming the clock. Nor should you. Sour grapes 4 u.

Steelers president Dan Rooney was unaware of the mistake until being alerted Monday by reporters.

"There's nothing to say. The game's over," Rooney said. "It's not going to change the score."

There is nothing that can be done. Doesn't mean it's not a shitty deal. If the show was on the other foot, you and the rest of Patriot Nation would be calling foul.

Maybe, and I would sound just as stupid as everone else. The fact is that the Pats and Steelers played a 60 min and 52 second game and the Pats won by 3. What's the problem, didnt cover the spread??

No timeouts on the last drive.....52 seconds is a pretty big deal.

Understood, but dont you think that if either coach had noticed the error, nevermind the official timekeeper or the officials themseves would have said something? The 52 seconds were added at the beginning of the qtr. And the game was played as such. The Steelers SHOULD have won that game. Randle El tossed it away. The phantom pass interference call on Chad Scott gift wrapped it for them. If the game was 52 seconds shorter there probably would have been overtime...what then.
Jeez, 3 patriot turnovers 2 in the red zone to the Steelers 1 TO. Pats still win.

Belichick vs Cowher? I'll take Belichick.

True about Randel El....what a bonehead play. Oh well....I couldn't care less about that game.....just hate the fact that this is possibly the second time one official or another has helped the Pats win.

You can look at it that way if you want but obviously i'm the ONLY Pats fan on this board. But everyone makes it sound as if the Steelers tied it up, and THEN the magical 52 seconds appeared. Not true. That would have been different.

Extra time is extra time. Two minute drills are supposed to be two mins. You can't give extra outs in baseball.

Like I said....there's a big difference in 2:00 and 2:52 on a football time clock.

Either way, the Patriots still blow ass and I am going to laugh hysterically as they finish towards the bottom of the Division. :hay: :happycow:
