Next week I Plan to quit smoking so.... I'm going to take up drinking ( presently I don't drink) So what is everyones' fav drink????
|
Re: Drink up!
Beer: Any Sam Adams or Shiner Bock
Liquor: no real preference Mixed: Long Island Iced Tea Preferred: Weed If you've never aquired a taste for any drink, dont expect to all of a sudden enjoy it. I drank Coors Light for almost 5 years before I got smart and tried something new, and will never go back to that piss water, unless I want to get shit faced, which again, I prefer Pot for that. Pot, while it may give you the munchies, isnt packed with calories or fat. Oh, and congrats on deciding to quit. I smoked all 5 years in the Marines, and quit the day I got out. Dont hang around anyone that smokes for a while, you will more than likely break down and start again. Especuially if you start to drink, and get drunk. You will loose that battle. Also, try not to get addicted to alchohol in the process, or anything else that's bad for you. Its really easy to substitute one addiction for another. Expect to put on some weight, unless you hit the gym hard. |
Re: Drink up!
Must agree for beer Sam Adams is a good all around beer.
Good luck on the quitting smoking thing. Many companies are starting to be smoke free workplaces. Fortunately, for the tobacco industry, third world countries are breeding and smoking like crazy. |
Re: Drink up!
Thanks for the tips and I expect to try a lot of different beers, lots to try out!

Re: Drink up!
For me, it's:
Beer- Sam Adams, Yuengling, Dos Equis Amber Liquor- Jameson Irish Whiskey, or vodka in a cold martini glass with an ice cube Mixed- no clue! Drugs- never done them, other than alcohol. Take FattyJJ's advice and exercise! |
Re: Drink up!
I can only agree with the three folks that posted already.
Sam Adams is a good beer, Fat Tire, XX Amber, etc. And the Exercise will help, as already stated. Glad to hear you are giving up Smoking! Smart choice, after you have quit for awhile, you will really notice a difference in everything. Food, Sleep, endurance, etc. But why start Drinking if you do not now? |

Re: Drink up!
haha, Kudos to the health minister, then! I would love it if the entire world became smoke-free. Absolutely hate those foul things.
Best drink is water for sure. :) |
Re: Drink up!
Best of luck
To quit smoking is very hard, in my experience whenever i try to smoke less (i know quiting is impossible for me) i try not to drink as much as well because drinking makes me want to smoke. Drinks ? Beer in America i have no clue whenever im there we drink PBR cause its real cheap ocationally in a bar ill have an irish red. Alaskan amber is a nice one too. Best drink all time is a whisky on the rocks, you cant beat a good whisky. Dont pick up drinking if you want to quit smoking... instead pay a membership to a gym or pick up a hobby or something i dont know i just know that when you drink you smoke |
Re: Drink up!
also best of luck with quitting. i also am going to do the same and quit smoking.
i usually drink vodka, but i can imagine not smoking and drinking at the same time. |

As my mom always told me, "Cant never could". :) I'm not saying this is your view, but I love hearing the stubborn, I'm right and wont listen to you, type people that say they will smoke no matter what. I'll certainly be glad when they all die of cancer and prove themselves right! :clemson: Oh, and PBR......... :puke1: :puke1: :puke1: :puke1: |

and drinking can't kill you? |
Re: Drink up!
Sam Adam's season brew is my fave for right now. I also love Harp, Smithwick's Guinness, Newcastle. It changes based on how fresh the keg is where I work.
as for liquor - jager. |
Re: Drink up!
My favorite is Ketel One rocks, straight, oj, grapefruit juice, cranberry juice.
But I've been pretty open to my "loss of control" when consuming said spirit. :sad2: So it's beer for me. Mostly the mexi beers: Pacifico (the best), Corona (Corona light for less calories), Modelo. Then there's the Hinano from Tahiti. Imperial from Costa Rica. I like my beers a little "skunky". Also, my other favorite when I travel is to ask for the local brew. That's how I got turned onto yingling. Also Fat Tire is a good brew as well. Have fun drinking. Smoking is phallic, so unless you're into sucking cawk; :hay: |
