What he meant is don't visit Baja. The drug cartels involved are from northern states...cartel del golfo versus the baja-sinaloa exchange.
If you want to visit mexico, you know who to ask. I can get you cheap rates at the Jalisco resorts. I'm staying the fuck away from Baja myself. When I drove down there in February, Sonora and Sinaloa were pretty calm. I stayed in Mazatlan and some people did say shit gets crazy, but essentially, if you don't fuck with them, they don't fuck with you.
