Tips for travelling overseas
I'll be heading to Europe in August for ten days. It's the furthest I'll have travelled from home. Any tips on airports, not being a dumb tourist that someone could take advantage of, etc??

Re: Tips for travelling overseas
Ive landed in london and amsterdam, in england I got taken by a cab driver who turned a two minute drive into a 15 minute drive and in amsterdam there are a lot of people who offer deals on tours and hotels, which locals told me is just a rip off. also, if your going to travel from city to city, buy your plane or train tickets when you get there you will save alot of money. pickpockets are supposed to be a problem I heard. also I see you are canadian, we are loved in europe. your canadian pass port will get you more chicks then an american with a two foot cock made of 24k gold.
have fun

Re: Tips for travelling overseas
Thanks for the tips. That's an interesting fact about picking up chicks, but considering I'm a girl, it probably won't work too well for me. And I have heard that being Canadian is a good thing while travelling abroad.

Re: Tips for travelling overseas
Europe ! A little vague, what happens when we arrange the reception party for the wrong airport / country.
As for someone taking advantage of you, well you never know it might be your lucky day.

Re: Tips for travelling overseas
Check on the Exchange rates before you leave and try to think of it and work with it as in that currency. Many people think they have more money then they really do.
Train Stations and Hotels give poor exchange rates, banks give good rates.
Check out the Youth Hostels - http://www.hostels.com/ Excelelnt rates and a great way to meet people from all over the world.
keep some money in a different pocket. Keep your credit card info in a good place to cancel if you lose one (or gets stolen).
Plan your trip with a day or two leeway, incase you really like where you are at.
Have fun. Have lots of fun!
Write a journal each evening, so you won't forget the day's events a week later (or years).
Have fun!

Re: Tips for travelling overseas
Still don't know where you're heading. Too busy packing no doubt, well tip for exchanging money do it at hole in the wall where you will get best rates. They do charge for each transaction so change at least 100 Euros a go.
