I'm actually registered as independant just so I don't get mail from the Republican party asking for money. However, I'm definitely more of a libertarian than anything else. Unfortunately, since we as a country seem to be stuck on having a two-party system, the libertarians will appear to be an off-shoot of the Republican party.

Where the rubber meets the road, it's the economy that has to be strong for us to be strong. Without it, we can't pay for national defense and law enforcement. Any other spending is a luxury and thus should be secondary (if not eliminated).

The neo-cons freak out the left much like moveon.org freaks out the right. The thing I find the most entertaining about politics in general is that that the extreme fringes of the right and left agree on many things; just for totally different reasons.
