Yes, there've been adjustments to Witness doctrine in the last several years, and no, it's not the first time it's happened.

I really, honestly, have very little defense as to what you're saying. I mean, it's a human organization, and is therefore prone to corruption and hypocracy. (I've seen the elders' kids being favored--and elders being favored--firsthand, and it is quite angering.) But (and I guess I can say this, having never experienced something so personally offensive that I'd want to leave) I feel that the merits of the religion outweigh the corruption and politics. You're right, though, there are both, unfortunately, and unfortunately, it is a horrible witness to people outside the religion. But the beliefs make sense to me, so I stick to 'em.

But I do appreciate your honesty. And, as I said, I appreciate your non-judgemental attitude. Thanks, friend.
