Re: 'Unknown' Bands
No i'm gonna have to go wit Stupac over there and say that the New Deal is the best new band to come out of Canada (and I'm judging on overall talent. c'mon, the new deal's album Navidrome is completely improvised and it is the sh*t). stu, you ever heard of STS9?

Re: 'Unknown' Bands
Oh yeah, STS9 are good shit. I might have to say that Rush is a close second to the New Deal. Umphrey's is easilly my favorite band, and I'm looking forward to seeing them grow over the next few years. I think Tortoise has potential too. They have some good songs, I'd like to listen to more of them. Vinyl is sweet too.

Re: 'Unknown' Bands
They're not like STS9 at all. Vinyl is like MMW with horns and Rush is a classic rock band that just happened to be a great group or prog rock songwriters. Rush's bass player (Geddy Lee) is a horrible singer, but musically, they're tight. You can get Vinyl shows on the Archive @ http://www.archive.org/audio/etreel...e.php?cat=Vinyl
