Food for thought!

We've seen the wolves ad for the Bush campaign claiming that Kerry voted for fund cuts for the CIA after the terrorist attack. Well..... what they forgot to mention was... which terrorist attack.

•Old news: The “first terrorist attack” the ad refers to didn't happen September 11, 2001, as some listeners assume. It actually was more than a decade ago, in 1993, when a truck bomb went off in the parking garage under one of the World Trade Center towers. In fact, Kerry was supporting regular increases in intelligence spending for several years prior to the attacks of September 11, 2001.

If that's not spun propaganda, I don't know what is. How do people not see through this?

•Missing Context: The ad doesn’t tell the whole story. Some Republicans also supported similar cuts in intelligence spending at the time, including Bush’s current CIA Director Porter Goss.

For the rest of the article, and for more break-down of the commercial, visit one of my favorite sites. You got it! http://www.factcheck.org/article291.html

Sorry, stepped back on the soap box!

Re: Feed this ad to the wolves, biiiatch!

What they did with the "terrorist attacks" ad is similar to when a movie is advertised as "THE NUMBER ONE MOVIE IN AMERICA" yea....the number one DRAMA...meanwhile it's only number 5 on the top ten. Kinda like how in the commercials for that new Team America movie, they poke fun and say "THE NUMBER ONE MOVIE IN AMERICA.....AMONG MOVIES INVOLVING PUPPETS" or something like that.

Anyhoo, advertising is a bitch and most of it is lies either way, political or not. (Lefty can probably explain better than i can since he actually works in advertising and i just studied it)

Re: Feed this ad to the wolves, biiiatch!

Here is what I know and believe...
1) neither side is perfect and the best policies, beliefs are somewhere in the middle.
2) both sides attack each other showing how "their" side is correct.
3) when someone attacks the other side I believe they are going against the interests of America by taking a side when the middle is best
4) when both parties are attacking I try to see who is a little more towards the middle and who truely has America's interests in their hearts.

no comment on who I am voting for.
