What would I know, I was just born and live here. Pretty much everyone I know is Australian funnily enough.
Australia has nothing like the roots of the Americas, we've never had a civil war, we don't have a culture based on national patriotism, we don't have a large standing army that throws its weight around under the guise of world politics, we don't have anywhere near the industrial or population base of America. We were ofunded as a prison colony and are still a republic of England. Other than being an industrialised 1st world, "western" if you will, country, where are our roots similar ?
