Omg...I love this series! I saw the title of the thread and sat up straight and got all excited!!!

I have just started reading it, so I can't discuss anything about Song of Susannah, but would be happy to once I'm done.

As for books writing themselves, as a writer I can say that some books do do that. Not so much in terms of the characters being some spirit beings talking to you from the Great Beyond, but often I am startled by the things I write or what the characters do.
