I saw this guy on the news. this upsets me because i am in the military. i just think he went too far with the things he was saying. did any one else see it? i can't find his web site anymore.

Then, military families are fuming over our next guest's website. Forsake the Troops (search) creator Michael Crook claims members of the military make too much money. He even labels those who serve "leeches" and "scumbags." Is he taking free speech too far? Tonight, Crook comes clean.

Let him realize that our forces men and women are not overpaid yet they are extremely underpaid. What a crock this guy is.

That is usually how it goes though. It's always the nutjobs with the far out ideas (i.e. Moore, Coulter, etc..) that catch people's attention. As someone who hasn't personally served but knows three people that have been wounded in Iraq (not to mention others that have served successfully there), I think they should ship his ass over and see if he changes his tune. I can't even begin to imagine some of the shit I've heard from buddies of mine coming back from there.

In short, fuck that guy.

I was in a good mood until I watched that shit. Now I am pissed off. Who the fuck does that asshat think he is? I served in the Army and got out just before getting deployed to Afganistan. I've got friends I served with that went to Iraq and Afganistan and didn't come back. This guy just got himself ranked below drug dealers and sex offenders.

I would have to say the guy who said foresake the troops has a lot of balls. Why dont we see him on the battlefields and defending our freedom to keep our country great. Anyone who says that about our military should be shot on site.

Total dumbass, although to respond to your question, no, he isn't taking free speech too far. I don't believe that's possible unless of course you're creating a clear and present danger. The guy is certainly a moron, but I would be equally as mad if someone tried to curtail his right to say it. I wouldn't mind of news channels decided not to give him airtime though. He's probably taking such an extreme stance just to generate buzz.

Yeah, there are limits to free speech like nflcclucky13 stated...clear and present danger has to be involved. There are extremists in every facet of society. There are environmental extremists, religious extremists, etc. It takes extremists on both sides to create a middle ground. We, as a democratic society, need extremists to keep everything in check.

Saying that, the guy does deserve a beatdown from someone...preferably a SEAL, Green Beret, or 1st Airborne...I'd pay $5 to watch it too.
