Am I Missing Something? (360)
I just threw Hostel 2 on a jump drive and put it in my 360. The 360 reads the portable device, but not the movie.
Help me.

Re: Am I Missing Something? (360)
the 360 only reads certain movie formats, is it in a readable one?
Also, try just putting it on your computer and access it through your 360. That might make a difference.

Yes, but not the main area. Just the disc drive that plays the games.
Xbox is sending a prepaid box to me. Should get it tomorrow. They said I'd get it back in 7-14 days with a 3 month Live card.

That is what they told me as well, but it ended up being a 3 week wait and only 1 month live card.
Hope you get better luck with them.

Re: Am I Missing Something? (360)
Some videos just wont play on it, regardless of format. Half the videos on my computer will play, but for some reason none of my G.I. Joe PSAs will work, despite being in the same format.

That must explain why when I hook up my Sansa MP3 player to it, only about a third of the songs on it come up.

Re: Am I Missing Something? (360)
Now I only stream video from my PC, and I know that wmv is the only filetype I can get to stream to my 360 using Windows Media player & setting up device sharing using that app (WMP). MP4 videos will also stream from your PC if you run the Zune software on the PC & set up device sharing with that app, but I haven't done that because WMP is MORE than enough MS Media software for me - besides I'd only want to stream MP4 if I ran that apple ipod shit, and you guys know that BDJ don't roll like that.
as far as MP3's go - I haven't had any problems streaming any of mine from my PC, also using WMP. I'm sorry this doesn't really help you, all i can say is transfer it to your PC & stream it that way.
BTW currently encoding an avi of Blades of Glory to wmv for streaming later tonight, should be done in an hour or two...Encode360 is the app you want to get for this (free & easy to use).

Re: Am I Missing Something? (360)
My only problem with streaming is I don't have the wireless adapter for the 360 yet. Also I'm too cheap to spend 25 bucks on a 50 ft ethernet cord.
Thats why I was using a jump drive and my Sansa MP3 player.

Re: Am I Missing Something? (360)
yeah you dont want to stream wireless, at least not if you are going to stream HD. Check walmart for that cable - their prices beat all, I got 6-ft HDMI cables for like 12 bucks each that were 3 times that price at Best Buy, I'm sure their ethernet's cheaper too.
