How many have tried Quake 4?

Is it as good as Q2? I used to Quake 2 but lost it sometime back...tried Quake 3 and it pretty much sucks....how is quake 4? I spent hundreds of hours on Q2 and would like to find another one as good as it...doom 3 sucked also imo. Thanks all!
