Has anyone modded their xbox'x here?
A few of my friends have them, and it seems pretty easy. Has anyone else done this?

Re: Has anyone modded their xbox'x here?
I haven't done it to mine but when the Xbox first came out Xbox magazine had a big article about doing it and how to do it safely without damaging the equipment. I've thought about messing around with it a time or two but just hadn't done it.
Any idea's of good mods to do?

Re: Has anyone modded their xbox'x here?
both my friends have the xecuter mods and they said it was simple to put in. Any idea if you can still play on Live with a mod like that? I would suspect that it wouldn't be wise to.

yeah I would say that it would only work with others that have added the same mods for Live.

Ive did mine a long time ago and have done several others since. The Xecuter lite pin chips are pretty simple and you dont have to solder. If you try to do it let me know, I can answer some questions.

Re: Has anyone modded their xbox'x here?
If I was to buy another Xbox to mod, I would buy the new Xenium ICE chip with the solderless adapter. I currently have a Xenium chip and love it. Once you see the full potential of a modded Xbox you will want to have one close by from then on. My Xbox is a full blown entertainment center with movies, music, pictures, games, even gives me the weather forecast.
Now all of this is possible with any of the latest mod chips out there. You get the fuctionality from the software you load on your xbox once it's modded. I just like the Xenium from a ease of use standpoint.

Re: Has anyone modded their xbox'x here?
I had it done for me a few weeks ago. My friend did it. I put a xecuter 2.3b lite mod chip in it and a 80 gig hard drive. The blue light from the chip looks cool because it glows out the side of my green limited edition halo xbox. And no you cant play on xbox live once you have modded your xbox, as far as I know, because xbox live check for modded xboxs and if it finds you then you will be kicked off for good.

Re: Has anyone modded their xbox'x here?
I havnt seen the Xenium yet, im checking out some of the specs now. It looks like it has a lot of cool features like software controlled bios and enable/disable. Was it pretty easy to flash Timarak?
The biggest difference I see is price Executer is around 30 and xenium 60. Also the Xenium says it will work on ver 1.6 (newest) boxes, and the Executor only up to 1.5. That could be the deciding factor if your xbox is new.

Re: Has anyone modded their xbox'x here?
I mod Xboxes and I don't need a chip. Just disable the write protection of the bios and flash it. I have done 5 and they have all worked great.

Re: Has anyone modded their xbox'x here?
most of the mods I checked out had a button combo or a switch to enable/disable the updated bios. i ran "live" fine with no probs a few months back not sure if anything changed but as long as you dont mess up the origanal you should be fine..
check out xbox-scene some great guides in there

Re: Has anyone modded their xbox'x here?
Xenium was super easy to flash since it boots up to it's on bios.
You can have up to 4 bios and choose which one you wish to use anytime.

Re: Has anyone modded their xbox'x here?
Locke, you mod boxes without a chip? You flash the bios and it works? I havnt heard of this and am anxious to know. This obviously will never work on live. What do you use to flash the board?

My friend said that if you turn the chip off and boot to the orginal dashboard that you be able to get on to live. He says all you need is to make sure that the hard drive is locked. Any one else been on live with a modded xbox with the chip turned off?
