It's a great example of our "not me" society. How could the idiot be responsible? So what, he crossed to boundaries and ignored clearly posted, warning signs. I'm sure the family will find a lawyer that will attempt to show the park "didn't do enough" to protect the teenager from himself.

Responsible? Not me! Someone else is supposed to do it FOR me!

Sounds like you got your stories mixed. The girl got her foot and part of her other leg cut off by a broken cable. The guy this threat is about climbed over two fences to retreive a hat and got his head knocked off by a moving coaster.

It's the same old thing that even gets you on your personal property. If you have a pool surrounded by a very tall fence and someone either climbs that fence or breaks in and drowns in your pool, you can be sued. If they even trespass on your property and injure themselves you are liable. It's sad the laws are the way they are. Come on my property illeagaly and hurt yourself? Good enough for you!

The kid shouldn't have been where he was restricted from going. There are restrictions for a reason. Six Flags isn't just trying to be douchebags by not letting you go to the cool places. I'm not saying the kid deserved it, but it's no one else's fault but his own.

there was recently a motorcyclist here who let a cop on a highspeed chase then crashed into a tree and was killed. the father is making a big deal that the kid wasnt wearing a helmet and the cop should have just let him go. i say if your doing something stupid or dangerous its your own fault. the kid should have just pulled over just like the kid in this story should have not gone in the restricted area. the park should sue the parents of this kid for the cleanup and bad publicity.
