I just reinstalled windows XP on my wifes cpu. My external harddrive (wd 250gig) was connected during the installation process and is no longer formatted. I would hate to lose all the programs music and pictures I have. Is there any way to retrieve the info from my external HD without formatting it, or am I too late.

XP needs a disk signature on the drive before it can access it.

Right click on my computer and choose manage. Go to Disk Management and click on the wd 250 gig drive.

I just accessed it thru the "my computer/manage, but it's saying that I need to format it before I can open or explore. I think this may be the end. Did I mention that all of my porn is lost.
