New Computer.. Need help
So i installed Firefox and AIM on the new PC.. And It wont allow me to connect to the internet with them.. How do I FIX or allow the programs to connect?
I did go into the SET program Access and Defaults.. and set up AIM and Firefox on there.. But they still wont access..
As you can tell IE works just fine.

Re: New Computer.. Need help
Ok. I was having other problems with my new pc so i called dell.. The tech guy wasn't sure what was going on.. Anyhow We deduced that it could have been a virus.. So I went to see and Dell gave me a TRIAL version of norton antivirus.. I had systemworks05 so i thought it would be better to get the full version .
I uninstall the trial software and BAM.. things start working again.
So it seems that the trial version of Norton was causing all these problems.
Werid. But it everything works now.
Thanks for the help!

Never liked Norton, always caused me hassle. Use Kaparsky myself, works just fine.

Could possibly been that the Norton firewall had the ports that AIM and Firefox uses blocked off.

Why don't you use Opera? The company is 10 years this year, and is offering the browser for free. Go to their home site www.opera.com and downlod. It's worth a try.

Re: New Computer.. Need help
First off why is this topic being bumped. The problem is solved.
Second, XP's firewall only blocks incoming traffic, not outgoing. Learn about what you talking about before you speak.
