True Home Theaters??
Does anyone around have a true home theater system in there house?
I am not talking about your 36" tv or even your 56" tv. I am talking about the 105" projector setups. The full 6.1 surround sound systems. I am talking movie theater style setup in the home for the true home theater goer.
I am looking to set one of these up for myself this year and am wondering about projectors. What are good ones? What are ones to stay far away from? etc....

Re: True Home Theaters??
If your buying a projector Sharp makes a decent one but the best is made buy Runco and make sure you get a DLP projector.I only know because I read alot of home theater mags.I dream of a projector set-up one day,but I'll just stick with my 32" Wega for now.

Re: True Home Theaters??
I don't have a theater screen, just a 53 in Projection. But I do have 7.1 surround sound and love it. I have a Pioneer Elite 53tx receiver, not the one that I wanted but the one that I could afford. I got a great price on it for www.etronics.com Sound quality is outstanding. Then there is another website called www.pricegrabber.com which give custmer rating and reviews with the lowest price on the web. Not a bad place to start

Re: True Home Theaters??
I use an older sony lcd projector, I would have to measure but I am shure it around 120" or so. only problem with mine is that if ya sit to close you can see the pixals. We have a large 25X30 room and sit about 15ft away so ya dont notice it.
ESS Heil electrostatics Main spkrs
Klipch 12' Rear spkrs
klipch 10' center
2 Pioneer 15" sub's
Rane Ma-6s 6ch amp

So how does it compare to the movie theater setting? This is what I am working for....naturally who isn't? LOL
I've been looking at some of the different brands and from what I see it is mostly about the Lumens of the bulb that really make the difference in the picture quality.
