so ive got a musical bug and i was thinking - i wonder if anyone has some old working instruments i could buy cheap. real cheap.

That's one of the things that the .pdf file tells you, hole placement. Unless you're starting a band and are going to harmonize it's close enough. Of course if you get really serious there's a nice yahoo group I belong to on Native American flute making.....
