I think the new games coming out are having more of an influence then ever, such as Doom 3. The graphics are absolutely incredible. The only problem was that I had to buy a new graphics card and more memory in order to play it. Just about everyone I talked to had to do the same thing, but people are doing it. The PC industry is going to make a killing with these games, so they got my vote...

I don't know that I agree. The new games are pretty to look at, but in the grand scheme of things they aren't influencing rather they are being mass produced because the past formula has sold. Old-school games like Adventure were innovative at the time and weren't copied (as much) as today's "smash hits"
