Re: Poker Players?
i play poker with some buddies every thursday night out here at the U of Minnesota. I've played online at yahoo, but that is just stupid. Everyone has so much money and you can never get chip position. It sucks.

Re: Poker Players?
I have played some poker online. Im no poker god but i thought party poker had a lot of dead money on it, and since im a poor college boy i didnt play for money. We have about 4 or 5 tournaments during the year though that pay purdy well. Have about 50 guys playing a couple of nights in a row. Good times.

Re: Poker Players?
I haven't played in a while but when I did play it was always at paradise poker. Would like to play more but money is a bit tight right now... not to mention I find that it is a pain in the a$$ to get money to the website... any suggestions.

Re: Poker Players?
I like partypoker. I played over the summer in Vegas at a $2/$4 table and got my but kicked. It's always so much harder when playing with the real stuff. Although, I think I've imporved my game playing online since then.

Re: Poker Players?
I opened an account at planet poker and quickly doubled my 'money'. After accruing tens of thousands in play money i decided to try playing for real money. That was just a few months ago; now I have real money accounts at quite a few poker sites. I don't have any interest in tournaments, so this is all based on heads up play.
Planet poker is my favorite based on the graphics, paradise poker a close second. Planet poker has about the lowest number of hands per hour. Another real drawback is your checks come from Holland, without a single word in English, which will get you strange looks from your bank if you live in a small town. They also take months to obtain.
Party Poker is the only site I had difficulty establishing an account with, but they more than made up for it by offering me a %50 sign up bonus. This is where I make the most money (worst competition). Their lowest limit table is .50/$1.00 and you have no control over how many people sit in a game. They also have the best stats. They will email you detailed hand histories of every hand.
Lucky Nugget's Poker rooms have the most variety of games, including 6 person max tables, no limit and table limit games, and antes down to nickel/dime. A real plus is an easy tabbed interface that allows you to play multiple tables at the same time. A real negative is an easy tabbed system that allows you to play multiple tables at the same time. It's a real drag to sit and wait for someone whose attention is elsewhere. Other than that it moves rather good. They also have an interesting stat section that breaks everything down into percentages, how many flops you see, where you fold, percentage of wins, etc...
I could go on...

Re: Poker Players?
I just started playing on Partypoker for play money, and I have to say that a lot of the players are truly awful. Staying in with 7 2 os and the like. Overall though it's fun and easy to play. I still would rather play with real people.

Re: Poker Players?
I am heading to Vegas in September and am looking to get into some low cash poker games. 1/2 or 2/4. Can anyone recommend some good places for these, wherethe drinks will still flow, and you wont feel like you are cheap (who knows, if I start winning, I may move to higher end games)

Re: Poker Players?
can anyone suggest a stable online site that won't bombard my computer w/ ads to play at? i've tried a few including paradise and party poker, and both jacked up my computer w/ ad-ware. i've been in a home game w/ some buddies for a few years, but just got a new job and i've been having trouble staying awake at the game, so i stopped playing...now i need something to feed the need
