Organ Donation, what is your opinion?
What's your personal stance on organ donation?
Should you be able to sell your organs on some form of market, legally?
Do you think it's safe?
I'll put my opinion in later...

Re: Organ Donation, what is your opinion?
No, I do not think you should be able to sell your organs. At the face I would say yes, but I fear some unscrupulous transactions could take place. There is potential for people to take advantage of the mentally disabled or homeless people. Less informed or uneducated people could be taken advantage of as well.
Does the law expressly forbid the selling of ones organs? I don’t know much on it.

Re: Organ Donation, what is your opinion?
I'm keepin' all my organs. You guys can do what you want with yours as far as I'm concerned. "Seller beware" is about all I have to say about trying to get money for 'em.
If you're not smart enough to realize your organs were being stolen from you, then you probably didn't have much of a life to start with. I say you have as much right to live as you have intelligence, but then again I'm a heartless bastard.

Re: Organ Donation, what is your opinion?
i say yes... we are supposed to be our own bodies owners..or not? of course a lot of regulation would be needed,... and certain criteria should have be meet.. as age, health status, etc... a central bank would be great...

Re: Organ Donation, what is your opinion?
I say you can only sell them if they are YOURS, not someone else.
And as far as mine, I don't care what happens to them when I am dead. They are of no use to me then.

Re: Organ Donation, what is your opinion?
i think there's a bioethics committee that has already decided on the matter of organ donation.
but personally, i think its not "donation" if you are selling it. it should be done by a competent person, who knows the consequences of his actions.
if they legalize the selling of organs, uneducated and poor persons are easy victims.

Re: Organ Donation, what is your opinion?
if you have sold your organs, ie a spare kidney or lung or whatever, what if you later need that replaced. should you then have to pay to get one back.
I know in the uk you get transplants on the NHS which doesnt cost you, but there are waiting lists. if you had sold a kidney then needed a new one i dont think you should be able to get one off the NHS, you should have to pay.

Re: Organ Donation, what is your opinion?
Organ Donation is legal, organ selling is not. People give up their kidneys. Mothers can give their child part of their livers.... etc.
As far as when I'm dead, people can use my balls for hackey-sacks for all I care. I won't be noticing. I'll be off to bigger and better things, like reading under the Pillar Nebula!

Re: Organ Donation, what is your opinion?
post-mortem organ donation is okay.
pre-mortem selling is not.
The reason being is that it would create a dangerous market. I could easily see body parts selling for 5 or 6 figures. That kind of money could be coercing and lead to iresponsible decisions being made by potential sellers. Where is the line drawn. Is it okay to donate a kidney or a lung? what about your heart if it will provide enough money for your family to live wealthily for the remainder for the remainder of their days? Would there be a new auction site for organs? Somebody check and see if Obay.com has been registered.

Re: Organ Donation, what is your opinion?
I think we should just stick to organ donation and the way it is now, I know when Im dead I wont need them anymore so why not save lives of others with my organs? I dont think selling organs would be right.
